Michigan Auto Insurance Requirements and Resources
The Michigan Auto Insurance Placement Facility (MAIPF)
Drivers who cannot buy vehicle
insurance in the regular market, may still be able
to purchase coverage with the Michigan Auto Insurance
Placement Facility (MAIPF). While not a Michigan state
agency, it was formed as a result of state law. The
cost of insurance might be more than regular insurance.
All insurance agents must complete an application to
MAIPF if the consumer asks.
